Sedona, AZ — For those who haven’t heard, Dan Willets passed. He was an integral member of the Sedona Marine Corps League, Det. #1237, where his dedication to the well being and recognition of all Veterans set a watermark for selfless service.

While writing my condolences to Dan’s wife, Karen, I came across this special 10 minute YouTube video of the 2013 Inaugural Dedication of the Sedona Military Service Park.
The year 2023 is the Sedona Military Service Park’s 10th Year Anniversary! Always fun to reminisce about this very special day 10 years ago. Here is the video!

My sympathies to Karen. Dan came to my place to walk my beagle, Stanley, while I was at work. Stanley was old, and didn’t care much for men either. But Dan won him over and was very sensitive to his needs. Dan was a special guy.

Dan was a friend to everyone. He was always there at the Coffee with a Vet gatherings and he enjoyed playing Pickle Ball with friends. He was very humble and yet always stood out to those who knew him. He will be missed by all those who were his friend. We all know where he is now.

To Karen, may I suggest you go to You Tube and watch the movie, “Heaven is for Real”. It is a true story of a little boy who died and went to Heaven and came back. I’m sure it will put your mind at ease after you watch it.

His name is Dan Willits, not “Willets”.
He deserves better than a typo.

Council Slams the Brakes on Flock Surveillance in Sedona
Video capture of Sedona resident expressing his views on Sedona’s spy cameras

    By Tommy Acosta

The Sedona City Council through a majority consensus voted 5–1 at its Wednesday, August 13, special meeting, to temporarily shelve a controversial auto license-reading surveillance program, with council members  Melissa Dunn, Kathy Kinsella  Brian Fultz,  Derek J. Pfaf and Pete Furman giving a thumbs down,  and Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow supporting the cameras.
