    UA Extension Director Speaks at YC Verde Valley Campus

    Verde Valley News – Dr. Rodolfo Martinez Morales, the University of Arizona’s Extension Director for Santa Cruz County, will discuss Regenerative Agriculture and its potential to increase sustainability as part of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute’s free “Munch & Learn” program, Thursday January 30, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., on Yavapai College’s Verde Valley Campus.

    20250117 olliAs the UA Extension Director in Santa Cruz County, Dr. Morales is developing a strategy to integrate regenerative agriculture with ecological restoration to enhance small-scale farming. His January 30 topic will be “Regenerative Agriculture as a Strategy for Ecological Restoration and Sustainable Landscapes.” He is an expert on crop and soil science, has worked in agriculture development and ecology and has broadened his research into plant and soil ecology, regenerative agriculture and sustainable landscapes.

    Dr. Morales’ presentation will take place in Room M-137 of Yavapai College’s Verde Valley Campus, 601 Black Hills Drive, in Clarkdale. “Munch and Learn” programs are free and open to the public. Produced by the Yavapai College/Verde Valley Campus’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI), “Munch & Learns” feature a variety of topics relating to community issues, as well as developments in science and the arts. “Munch & Learns” will be presented at Yavapai College Thursdays, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. through March 5. Locations will be published within the program descriptions.

    OLLI is a part of Yavapai College and offers academic, not-for-credit programs designed for adults 50 years old or older. It is a member-led program organized by a volunteer council.
