By Ted Grussing
… to start a day than to be out in nature early in the morning, with a friend, and looking for and shooting song birds and other wildlife? Can’t think of a better way to get it going … a large black coffee from home roasted beans on the way down to Page Springs and Bubbling Ponds Fish Hatchery, and then grabbing the camera gear and heading out along mirror like ponds. Earth is just coming to life and it is silent and calm.
There were swallows everywhere in the sky feasting on fresh hatch insects and of course we did the impossible and tried to get shots of them … every photo was later deleted. I got a Red wing Blackbird who was putting on his finest display trying to impress all the females with his grandeur … that’s him above.
And what better way to close out a day than to sit with a beautiful creature and photograph him before it is time for him to find his dinner and take shelter for the night. All in all a rather perfect day.
Decide to have a beautiful day today and then set about to live your day so that when night falls, you will have a smile on your face and warmth within.
Cheers,
Ted
