… there are times when you feel like you are transitioning into the Twilight Zone and on this August day at 2:06 in the afternoon, I had that feeling. A smokey haze from a prescribed fire hung over the plateau and the smoke traveled downhill, filling Oak Creek Canyon and spilling over the rim into Sedona and the Verde Valley. In the foreground is the tip of Munds Mountain … beyond the gap is Wilson Mountain and to the right of it is Oak Creek Canyon. On the horizon from the left is Sitgreaves Mountain, Kendrick Peak in the middle and the San Francisco Peaks on the right. In a way it is beautiful although not lung friendly.

The mystery landscape, slipping into the twilight Zone …

Leaving for the lake in just five hours so need to close it down and get some sleep. Have a beautiful day and enjoy life as it occurs … smile, you are here!

… keep ever burning before my vagrant steps the kindly light of hope.
And though age and infirmity overtake me, and I come not within sight of the castle of my dreams, teach me still to be thankful for life, and for time’s olden memories that are good and sweet; and may the evening’s twilight find me gentle still.

    The Bloody Machine
    By Tommy Acosta
What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old. We die. Everything we experience is but a dream between those two points. Or are we manifestations of a Divine Creator, every one of us complete in the image that we were made? So, we are told.
