    … there are few flowers more beautiful than tulips and of the tulips, white is the elegant one, the pure one. I took this shot at Filoli Gardens near days end back in 2012 while visiting my daughter and her family in the Bay Area. Flowers are one of my favorite subjects to shoot and I’m always looking for a better image than what I have … in the intervening eight years I have yet to come across a more beautiful grouping of white tulips or lighting conditions such as I had with this shoot. It is a prize … nothing to match it and likely it will retain that status.

    This is the next special and it is in my eCommerce store … $75.00 delivered to your home and only $65.00 each if you buy 3 or more. Click on the blue button at the bottom of this message to go to the store. Also the Beyond Red Rock Crossing is still in the store as is the deal on the assorted 5 x 7 greeting cards. Check it out and do some non-cyber shopping. Just beauty to grace your home.

    I got the deep cleaning, throwing and rearrangement of the kitchen done today … moving on to the dining room tomorrow.

    Have a beautiful day … seek beauty and it will fill your life and share it with those you meet and greet. Thanks too for all the positive feedback on this new format.

    Cheers,

    Ted

    Let me forgive much, forget more;
    Let me close my eyes and fall half asleep,
    That the pictures may grow softer and stiller,
    And the life, O thou God! again grow gentle.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
