    … across the earth this shadowy creature is spanning Sycamore Creek as he pursues life which is seemingly flying across the earth. It was a beautiful day in April and the winds were gentle and light; the perfect day to spend hours soaring over our little  planet earth … and that is a reality now as I was cleared for all activities this morning. Swelling and bruising down and 20/25 rt eye, 20/30 left eye and just a whole lot more field of vision. Derek thinks that all this new expanse I am seeing will ruin my ability to focus in on a shot, especially in the area of Landscape … way too much to process … I was pre-cropping with my limited field of vision. Dream on Derek. Just kidding of course.

    In the foreground Sycamore Creek comes down canyon and joins the Verde River a ways behind me in this shot. The flat top green mountain on the right of the image is Black Mountain and angling to the left just above it is Casner Mountain and of course the San Francisco Peaks above and to the left of Casner. Kendrick’s Peak and Sitgreaves Mountain are to the left of the SF Peaks and on the horizon. ‘twas a beautiful day.

    Getting the new guest suite painted in the morning and furniture on the way … then time to start in on the outside again.  Life is fun; it is good.

    Have a terrific day, we’re over the hump and the weekend is coming .

    Cheers and smiles

    I bring but this one common thought, my life has wrought;
    That from the dregs of drear despair, still everywhere
    There is a joy I yet may sip – Tis comradeship
    With all mankind, the high and low
    I know.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols
    By Tommy Acosta
    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
