… I go through periods where subjects I have not shot before, or for a long time tweak me and say lets do a lot of shooting of them. Then I lose interest or something else pulls me away in a new direction. For a couple of years Mesquite pods were my thing and here is one I found from a number of years ago that I particularly like … red pods against the foliage of the tree. I think I shot this one in the wild area of the golf course off our back deck. Hope you enjoy it … as much art as photograph,

Like everything I post this image is available for custom cards, photos or whatever. Just let me know.

It was a nice day and whittling away at my backlogs of emails … patience please.

Smile, breathe and enjoy life whilst you have it.

    Cheers,

    Ted

Though the world know me not,
    may my thoughts and actions
be such as shall keep me friendly
    with myself.

Let me not follow the clamor of
the world, but walk calmly in my path.

Give me a few friends who will love me
for what I am; and keep ever burning
before my vagrant steps the kindly light of hope.

Teach me to be thankful for life, and for time’s
olden memories that are good and sweet; and may
the evening’s twilight find me gentle still.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
