… the essential ingredient for life as we know it is water, that beautiful liquid that is essential to life of every kind on this planet … here a seasonal creek is flowing through an area in the NW end of the Painted Desert and it provides for the trees and vegetation that borders the creek … coyotes, puma, bobcats, rabbits and all manner of creatures depend on that tiny flow of water to sustain them. When the water goes away the creatures move on and back in earlier times, humans too would move on … crops would not grow, animals could not be sustained and neither could the humans.

The foot hills in the upper part of the image are quite high and the straight down perspective rather flattens them … think in terms of hundreds to thousands of feet. This is earth and natural abstract art.

An early night for me … Lake Pleasant awaits early in the morning and creatures not yet seen will visit us.

Have a beautiful day whilst enjoying life on this beautiful little planet. Everywhere you are there is beauty … seek it and you will find it … share it and smile, as life is good and oh so very short.

    Cheers,

I look again at the still, sweet face of the night, as if
to say adieu; yet I linger and look again and again,
loath to go, as a man parting at evening from the
    woman he loves.

    A Bad Moon Rising

    By Tommy Acosta
What the hell is going on? Is the fabric of society in the U.S. tearing apart at the seams? Watching those videos of teens gone wild, smashing windows, stealing from shopping centers, laughing while running over bicyclists — an omen of things to come? What can be done? Catch them? Incarcerate them. Put them in jails until they learn enough about crime to come out as skilled criminals? These kids, these young men and women of color, are growing wild in the streets. From fatherless homes, unable to properly read or write, a dismal and destitute future ahead of them. What is going to happen when they reach adulthood? The cops can’t stop them. There are simply too many. They can flash mob a phalanx of cops and just run berserk around them. What are the police to do? Shoot them? Read more→
