… make for some beautiful effects when shooting on the water, creating a serene and muted ambiance that it is not possible to get on those sunny days we are known for here in Arizona. I am making great progress going through the portfolio and whilst going through the Waterfowl folders I came across this shot of a Coot diving for food … the reflections, and splashes with the reflections of a mostly grey sky gave it a nice feel, so here it is … kinda fit my mood for the day and this shot will remain in the portfolio for a long time to come.

Wednesday will see more cleansing of the portfolio and hopefully a good start on answering emails … not much else planned for the day, but I’m sure that there will be some unexpected events and visits and they are always welcomed. Maybe a quick tour of the ponds late afternoon … call it the usual planned/unplanned day I usually have … it is so nice not having appointments set for weeks in advance and a practice or business that constantly calls for attention.

Have a beautiful day and bring some beauty into the lives of those you meet and greet today … so much better than flipping a rude driver off … I do have some photos I took about 10  years ago when Corky and I were leaving a doctors office in Phoenix and we saw the root structure of a Eucalyptus tree that was the perfect hand with the middle digit extended … it rather went with the day we had, had and gave us both a great laugh. Maybe I’ll send one of them out some day as they do give you a hint that nature has a sense of humor.

    Cheers

    Ted

Yes, That Was Biden at the
    State of the Union Address

    By Tommy Acosta
It was about three minutes into President Biden’s speech in his State of the Union address when I found myself searching for clues as to the speaker’s real identity. “It just couldn’t be him,” I thought. An imposter had taken his place and was getting away with it!” Where was the stumbling, fumbling, bumbling President America has grown to love? What the heck was going on? His demeaner was confident. He was lucid. He did not lose himself somewhere in his mind between sentences. He hardly referred to his notes and went on delivering his message in an almost totally coherent way. He even went off script when Republican hecklers using their doth-the-lady-protest too-loud defense against him, protesting loudly after being accused by Biden that they were out to wipeout Medicare and Social Security.
