    … this morning I got the best coyote shots I have ever taken … perhaps 800 of them as we followed a group of coyotes up and down the shoreline, in and out of small canyons and watched them fishing , eating and playing. In the first of these shots the coyote is in the water looking for breakfast and about 30 seconds later he is exiting the water, heading for high ground carrying a massive fish … not sure what it is, but it fed four coyotes … this guy got first dibs though. There was a chase at the top where one of his pack tried to take it away, but I missed the action on that one.

    It was another amazing day on the water as I learn the lake and found some new almost hidden bays that turned out to be very productive and teeming with life.

    A wrap on the day as in five hours it is back down to the lake for another day on the water and who knows what will be there then. Continually amazed at the beauty and abundance of life. After tomorrow, that will be it for the boating until early to mid December … left knee replacement a week from Friday and then some down time for healing. Gotta get ready and stock up on stuff for the first few weeks.

    With tens of thousands of images I have yet to process, the down time will enable me to go through a lot of them.

    Have a beautiful day … smile, you are here 🙂

    Give me to gladly go
    My way, and say
    No word of mine own woe;
    But let me smile each day.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
    Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
