    Healing Paws

    By Ted Grussing

… its time for a bit of a change of pace … from the aerial skyscapes, birds and animals to a bloom from our tiny Argentine giant cactus from this spring. Every time I look at one of these blooms I envision myself shrinking in size and traveling through the time warp tunnel within the bloom to everywhere and anywhere in the universe and maybe to parallel universes. There is no limit, human conventions do not apply when you allow your imagination to take control of the beauty you are witnessing … why be an adult when you can be the child filled with wonder at every new experience?

A very good day with a lot of hours on the opal and the polishing has begun … it is beautiful … truly beautiful! About two more days to finish the polish and by Wednesday I should be able to send out a photo of the finished piece. It is to other opals what this bloom is to other flower blooms.

Time to wrap the day, a busy one underway and need some rest before the morning espresso. Have a beautiful day and carry beautiful images in your mind … smiles come easy that way.

    Cheers

    Ted

Tomorrow I shall return to the human wheels; but now I defy the world of customs and laws, of sophistry and serfdom; and I yield myself childlike
to the light and the air and the sweet scented dew.

City Council Weighs ATV Ban Ordinance Proposal
    By Tommy Acosta
The Sedona City Council at its May 23, 2023 meeting took no action on a proposed ordinance that would ban all off-road vehicles from being driven on state-owned public roads or streets owned by the city. The ordinance, spearheaded by Sedona Mayor Scott Jablow on the premise that such vehicles pose a risk to the health, safety and welfare of the community, would impose heavy fines to anyone driving the ATVs or OHVs on city streets, including S.R. 179 and S.R. 89A. ATV rental companies have admitted that such vehicles are not intended or designed to be driven on paved roads, yet, in Arizona, they are allowed to do so under Arizona Revised Statute 28-1174 (4B). Opponents against the ordinance argued at the meeting that if adopted the ban would cripple the ATV rental industry in Sedona and cause much hardship to the owners and employees, as it would effectively, as written, destroy their livelihood.
