By Ted Grussing
… a wonderful day to be here, breathing and enjoying life, friends, nature and some creatures that were desirous of having their portraits taken. Guy and I headed back to Watson Lake this afternoon and conditions were perfect, water that was like glass, reflections you can hardly imagine and beings like this Great Blue Heron that wanted to have his portrait taken. Mostly we were using the electric motor and drifting into the birds. I have never been closer to a Great Blue Heron than I was to this one; less than ten feet. So the camo painted Knot Yacht is meeting and exceeding expectations.
Even though I left my 24/70 lens at home I was still able to get some pretty exciting landscape/abstract shots and will be sending some of them out later. Guy brought a camera body with his 24/70 lens as well as a 150/600 and got great shots. We stayed on the lake until just before sunset and the lighting on the rocks was very similar to the color in Sedona. We didn’t get back until after 8P tonight … Knot Yacht is truly one of my better investments.
Long day coming up again so will put a wrap to this one. Have a beautiful day and share a smile with those you meet and greet today.
Cheers
Ted
I thought that time went sweet and soft and slow,
And left no marks save those of gentleness
That bound you to my life with strong caress;
And you saw naught but all my soul’s deep truth,
No fading bloom, nor form the years bent low,
But ever still the beauty of my youth.
