… a rose is still a rose … inviting … beautiful and calming. I took this shot whilst on an early morning walk in Half Moon Bay, Ca last August and there was a light rain that allowed for the formation of many drops that adhered to the petals of this bloom. I like it that so many people love beautiful things and plant all these flowers out in front of their homes so that those like me who do not grow them can enjoy such beauty … and so can you. It is also indicative of the premise that most people are really good people; why else would they put such beautiful flowers out for others to enjoy? It’s like they are inviting others to see how much beauty they find in life.

A long, but enjoyable day and since I was in Phoenix I made the mandatory Trader Joes run. Geez I like that store … stocked up on almond and cashew butter; they sell it for about half what the Whole Food and other stores sell it for and they even have a salted version. Then too, their cheesecakes are just wonderful … I was hungry when I was in there so I ended up with a lot of stuff and not all as healthy as the almond butter.

Late … time to shut it down for the day … keep breathing and keep smiling

    Cheers

    Ted

The green of all the fields is mine, the stars, the night, the wind at play,
    A peaceful heart, while quietly
    I go my way

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
