… portraits of cats and dogs are among my favorite things to do, ditto wildlife and so many other things … so here are a couple of shots from the past. Above is a shot of Bentley and Pipi, and I took this shot whilst there owner held them on his lap in a golf cart. He had stopped to chat and, well, I always have a camera with me, so …

Below is a drake Wood Duck taking off from one of the ponds at Bubbling Ponds Fish Hatchery in Page Springs … to me Wood Ducks are the most beautiful of all the ducks in the USA … small and fast dabblers, like all dabbling ducks, they leap into the air.

Short one tonight as an early morning tomorrow. Katie is so full of energy and love that it is hard to believe. Think her home behind the television may be permanent so added more bedding for comfort. The firs composite of her will go out tomorrow night.

With joy and thankfulness for all of your support.

    Ted

I yield myself to the thousand enchantments of the sky and field and wood, and play again like a child on the soft green of the earth. And as the God of the universe has made thee to bloom in tenderness, so also may my heart be softened, and the gardens of my life be made to bloom again.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
