    “Thank a Veteran Event” at Elite Salon Sedona

    Sedona AZ (March 20, 2016) – We’re getting closer to the “Thank a Veteran Event” at Elite Salon Sedona located at Dry Creek Plaza, 3150 W SR 89A. The Owners and Stylists at Elite Salon are inviting all Veterans, especially Vietnam Veterans to call for an appointment for a free haircut or manicure on March 30, 2016. Darrin Collins, Elite Salon Owner said, “Bringing the Vietnam War Veteran’s Traveling Wall to Sedona is a huge opportunity for our community to say ‘Thank you!’ to all our Heroes who have sacrificed so much for our Freedoms. We live in the Land of the Free because of these Brave men and women.”

    The Salon Stylists and Manicurist are designating March 30th as the “Thank a Veteran Event” from 12noon to 3pm for free haircuts and manicures for any Veteran that calls in for an appointment during that time. These free services are being offered by some of the best Beauty Professionals in Sedona, Darrin Collins, Dorothia for nails, “D” Robbins and Wendy Rella.

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
