Sedona AZ (March 6, 2019) – The Sedona Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau is pleased to announce the installation of six bike repair stations in Sedona.
Each bike repair station is equipped with a bike hanger, heavy-duty bike pump and air kit, and commonly used tools for bike maintenance. Bike repair stations are free for all riders.
Two bike repair stations were installed in February, and the other four will be installed throughout March and April, dispersed in high use areas including the Fay Canyon, the City Bike Skills Park at Posse Grounds, Adobe Jack Trail, Chuckwagon Trail, Bell Rock Trail, and Yavapai Vista Trail.
This initiative is part of the Sustainable Tourism Plan, which is a long-range tourism management strategy that helps highly-visited destinations such as Sedona achieve balance, protecting our natural beauty, community character and livability while maintaining a vital economy. Bike repair stations help to improve the quality of life for residents and enhances the visitor experience.
The repair stations also align with the City of Sedona Community Plan to enhance environmental stewardship and improved traffic flow. Bike repair stations will allow more bikers to ride rather than drive throughout Sedona, knowing they can fix their bikes in many locations. More bicycles will mean less cars on the road, improving the flow of traffic.
