Yavapai County, AZ – MATFORCE, a primary prevention organization focused on stopping youth drug use before it starts, has partnered with Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) and Sedona Fire District to offer residents an opportunity to properly dispose of medications.

Since 2008 over 46,400 pounds of medication have been collected and properly disposed of through Dump the Drugs events and drop box locations throughout Yavapai County.

Community members can conveniently dispose of expired or unwanted medications at prescription drug take-back events. The Sedona Fire District and the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) are co-hosting a Dump the Drugs event on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. This event will take place from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Sedona Fire District Station 1, located at 2860 Southwest Drive in Sedona.

To encourage proper year-round disposal of medications, Yavapai County offers 14 prescription drug drop boxes for convenient use. For more information, please contact your local police department.

For more information about this event, the locations of drop boxes near you, or MATFORCE visit matforce.org/yavapai-county.
