Phoenix AZ (October 5, 2018) – Arizonans thinking about getting a Travel ID to replace their current standard driver license or ID card should make an appointment at an Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division office soon to prepare for the Oct. 1, 2020, changes to ID requirements at airport security checkpoints.

“As of this week, there are about 500 business days, excluding government holidays, for people who want to get the Travel ID,” said MVD Stakeholder Relations Manager Jennifer Bowser Richards. “There are literally millions of Arizonans who may want to get this credential, so making an appointment at ServiceArizona.com to visit an MVD office and obtain the Travel ID is becoming more important as time passes.”

20181005_azdotArizona is one of 37 states to offer a choice between a credential that meets federal standards and one that does not.  Arizona law requires that MVD provide customers with this choice.

The Arizona Travel ID replaces the holder’s current card and is distinguished by a gold star embedded in the upper right-hand corner. This indicates the holder has verified his or her identity to meet the more stringent standards of the federal REAL-ID Act. It does not replace a U.S. passport for international travel.

When making an appointment, customers should be prepared to bring several different forms of identification. Some examples include:

    • One document such as a birth certificate or valid U.S. passport to verify identity
    • One document with the user’s Social Security number such as a Social Security card or W-2 form
    • Two documents such as utility bills or bank statements that prove Arizona residency

A full list of acceptable documents is available online at azdot.gov/travelID.

Customers should bring documents that are consistent with each other in regards to a person’s name and other information. For example, name changes due to marriage or divorce, use of nicknames instead of given names and so forth, need to be considered when bringing in documentation.

Some Authorized Third Party dealers provide full license and ID services, including offering the Travel ID. Go toazdot.gov/thirdpartyDLservices for more information on locations and availability.

Good deal, but make sure all your ids match exactly. If not, multiple trips to license branch will insue. There are 3 categories required for the ID. Make sure you get them right.

      Yes, speaking from experience.

How come your Fire Board signs are plastered along rt 89 A in west Sedona.. Thats a violation of political sign placing laws …

Please remove them they are an eyesore..

If you think that Sedona Fire is being run efficiently and cost effective then vote for Mc Carthy and Comello for Sedona Fire Board ..They respect the members of Sedona Fire and Chief Kazian…

The slate of Arizona Liberty/Sedona Tea Party care not for public safety nor for the members of Sedona Fire….They are only interested in thier SELF SERVING interests and thier own “bottom line”. All three running under AZ Liberty/Sedona Tea Party are all multi Millionaires with the most to gain by gutting Sedona Fire.

The last time Tea Party members sat in They Fire Board they nearly bankrupt Sedona Fire and thier repercussions financially are still being felt…Past recalled Tea Party board members are also members of Az Liberty/Sedona Tea Party…One such member Craig Dible is a master at manipulation of data and is responsible for all thier pretty little web sites and cute animations all based on twisted data if not “outright lies”..

One member running for the board is Dwight Kander who is/was the founder of Sedona Tea Party who was a failure so the had to change the name to Arizona Liberty.. They hate being called the Tea Party cause he was such a failure as thier leader..They all hate government of any kind and use the manipulation of facts to sway opinion.

They all think they can run a Fire Dept like a business for NO respect for the members of Sedona Fire……employees of Sedona Fire or Chief Kazian.

They all think they “know better” then the Chief and his Assisant Chiefs who have well over decades of dedication in the Fire Service..

More so then that …..Az Liberty/Sedona Tea Party think they can “buy” your votes by cute little ice cream socials were the spew thier made up information and half truths were THEY tell you what a terrible job the present board members and Chief Are doing running Sedona Fire… None of the three know the difference between a fire “truck” or a “fire engine”

They have also “bought out” another online blog where they disallow any negative facts thats put thier Tea Party organization in a negative light… They only feed you half truths and nonsense. Make your own choices but if you like how the chief is running Sedona Fire in partnership with the Fire Board then vote for McCarthy and Comello….

It’s interesting when people have nothing constructive to say that personal attacks insue. And to be so desperate to attach the attacks to an article on the new travel IDs? That’s a stretch. That’s pretty desperate.

Arizona Liberty is a Web site that I owned since the mid 2000s, not used like many web addresses I have reserved until I had a use for it. To make a statement that it used to be a Tea Party association is really goofy, and desperate.

Regarding our campaign signs, we don’t know where they are being put. We have many supporters who pick them up. I know many are placed in proximity to McCarthy signs. It’s campaign season, deal with it. What’s illegal is to block them, remove them or deface them. 2nd class misdemeanor.

Regarding the Fire District, nothing is perfect. There is always room for improvement. And wasting money on programs that don’t make us safer like $30k for advertising that could buy 2 of the auto CPR units. Irresponsible. A lot of other things should be looked at. We already have one fire professional on the board, Mr. Soto. Why do we need two? A board is supposed to have diverse talents. We do.

So the question is do you want a good department made better? Or business as usual. Remember, the existing board, excluding one, voted for and $18million bond issue we defeated that was structured and funded by a Phoenix construction company and their sub contractors to rebuild a bunch of our stations, which was unnecessary. A program Core construction pulls on unsuspecting school and fire districts around the state. Do you want a board who falls for that or a board who understands construction, customer service, finance, fleet operations and operations.

And yes, come to our Ice Cream social on the 14th in the Village to talk to us one on one instead of reading ads, misrepresentations or going to a debate with preloaded questions with 1 minute answers. It is an important decision, and no board member has been voted on by the public in 8 years.

      No more “business as usual”.

      VOTE Demaray, Kadar and Schroeder

Mike your and “tea party” buddy’s are full of crap..

Business as usual at Sedona Fire means a smooth running efficient cost effective Fire Service… We’ve seen your lies and half truths in you cute little animations distorted by your buddy Dible..

Your funny when you have nothing truthful to share you just fall back on your ole twisted misinformation…

We know your “slate” is trying to cut our Sedona Fire” to save your buddy’s a buck or two… you care nothing about public service only your” bottom line”.. seems like those with the most care not to pay.. AZ Liberty/tea party way..

I didn’t see anyone from your slate at the 9/11 memorial …..were you and Kadar plotting how to desimate our Sedona Fire? Oh yes, great idea about a county wide Fire Chief….NOT. We’re you get that brainstorm ? …From Dibles buddy in Colorado .

In order for you to make descions about Fire Departments you group shpuld really fiqure out what a Fire Dept does..

I was talking to the Sedona.biz publisher/editor the other day, Tommy Acosta, and learned that our common friend Fernando Rivera of North Carolina passed away. It was reported that life and time caught him and then overcame him, and his heart quietly and suddenly failed.
