Sedona AZ (May 2, 2014) – My name is Ruby, which is such a great name for me because I’m a real gem!

20140502_HSS_rubyIf you’re wanting a super sweet, very affectionate, totally gentle and loving kitty, and you’re looking for that one and only indoors kitty, that’s beautiful too, I’m the kitty for you!

I’m also special because I have FeLV, probably contracted from kissing another kitty! Oops! There is a very good chance indeed that I will lead a long and happy life, because although I have kitty leukemia, this doesn’t necessarily mean that I won’t live to the end of my natural lifespan. It just means I shouldn’t mix with other kitties and instead spend my life with my humans! I’m so full of life that anyone who gets to know me will see what I mean.

I’m only a very young gal and I so love to play. I’ve been well loved and my owner had to move away so here I am, ready for my brand new life!

I’m a very popular kitty too and because of my charismatic personality my adoption fee has even been sponsored by my ‘fans’ !

I really enjoy being picked up and I’m looking for my furr-ever home where I can nuzzle and be loved – come and meet me, you won’t be disappointed, I promise!

You can see more photos of me here. .  Come and meet me at the Humane Society of Sedona shelter, open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

    The Symbolism of Jan. 6

    By Tommy Acosta
Don’t mess with symbols. Just ask author Dan Brown’s character Robert Landon. The worth of symbols cannot be measured. Symbols make the world-go-round. Symbols carry the weight of a thousand words and meanings. Symbols represent reality boiled down to the bone. Symbols evoke profound emotions and memories—at a very primal level of our being—often without our making rational or conscious connections. They fuel our imagination. Symbols enable us to access aspects of our existence that cannot be accessed in any other way. Symbols are used in all facets of human endeavor. One can only feel sorry for those who cannot comprehend the government’s response to the breech of the capital on January 6, with many, even pundits, claiming it was only a peaceful occupation. Regardless if one sees January 6 as a full-scale riot/insurrection or simply patriotic Americans demonstrating as is their right, the fact is the individuals involved went against a symbol, and this could not be allowed or go unpunished.
