    Dia de los Muertos at Casa Latina for Jerome Art Walk

    Jerome AZ (October 24, 2013) – This month, Casa Latina has added more colorful arts  & crafts from Old Mexico. November 1st & 2nd is Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, a celebration of life 20131024_Casa-Latinawebwith a long tradition in Latin Cultures. In recent years, it has had growing popularity across all cultures. As usual, they have stocked for this wondrous occasion. Individually hand-made and enchanting (Guadalajara style) clay Catrinas in many different varieties are in abundance at Casa Latina. Come join them and celebrate with refreshments and music by in house artist Duane Ewing at the Merchants Gathering Building (next door to the Visitor’s Center).

    What is a life anyway? A single “life?” Is it nothing more than a collection of emotions and thoughts, reverberating pain and pleasure, hopes, dreams and fear? Are we merely meat; flesh and blood creations encapsulating what we believe is a soul? Or is a single life the microcosm and macrocosm of human life on earth, each one of us a unique representation of who we believe we are and the whole of humanity at once? We are born. We grow old. We die. Everything we experience is but a dream between those two points. Or are we manifestations of a Divine Creator, every one of us complete in the image that we were made? So, we are told.
