    Clarkdale Historical Society Plant Sale

    Verde Valley News – The Clarkdale Historical Society is seeking volunteers to assist at the annual plant sale scheduled for March 18th, 2023 from 7:00 am until 12:30 pm. If you are interested in volunteering the day of the sale, please contact Patricia Carroll by email – patriciacarroll9@icloud.com or call/text – 801-824-1985 with your contact information. 

    Loans of wagons, wheel barrels and boxes / plant flats are also sought. Be a part of this fun community event!

    If you can’t volunteer, please come to the sale! The inaugural plant sale was an overwhelming success, with almost every plant finding a home in the first two hours. Come early for the best selection.

    Yes, That Was Biden at the
    State of the Union Address

    It was about three minutes into President Biden’s speech in his State of the Union address when I found myself searching for clues as to the speaker’s real identity. “It just couldn’t be him,” I thought. An imposter had taken his place and was getting away with it!” Where was the stumbling, fumbling, bumbling President America has grown to love? What the heck was going on? His demeaner was confident. He was lucid. He did not lose himself somewhere in his mind between sentences. He hardly referred to his notes and went on delivering his message in an almost totally coherent way. He even went off script when Republican hecklers using their doth-the-lady-protest too-loud defense against him, protesting loudly after being accused by Biden that they were out to wipeout Medicare and Social Security.
