    City announces LaunchPad for business

    City of Sedona ArizonaSedona AZ (June 15, 2017) – The city of Sedona is offering a new opportunity for entrepreneurs. LaunchPad is a business basics boot camp to prepare those seriously considering starting a business. By the end of the program, business owners will have a fully vetted plan.

    When

    Pre-work – Pre-work will be assigned a couple weeks before the class begins. A few days prior to the class, the participants are required to attend a group call to pitch business ideas and discuss expectations of the program.

    Class work – July 12 (8:00-5:00), July 13 (8:00-5:00) and July 14 (8:00 – Noon)

    Following six weeks – Participants will attend weekly calls for six weeks

    Where: Sedona’s Yavapai College campus, 4215 Arts Village Drive, Sedona AZ, 86336.

    Agenda

    Day 1, July 12 – Dissect business feasibility, define the mission, determine/validate the best business entity, defend market analysis, set up OneUP accounting system, define how to keep and acquire customers, create CRM database and begin marketing strategy

    Day 2, July 13 – Setup business operations plan, define project management strategy, build inventory system, set up financial system, review business plan, define launch steps and prepare presentation to pitch the business

    Day 3, July 14 – Make and present a seven-minute presentation/pitch of the viability and feasibility of the business

    The Sad Lesson of Tyre Nichols

    Having grown up in the mean streets of the Bronx there is one lesson we learn early on, and that’s don’t mess with the cops when they got you down, and outnumbered. The beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of the police preceding his death at the hospital could have been avoided if only he had the sense to not resist them. People fail to understand that on the streets, cops are basically “God.” You can’t fight them. If it takes one, two, five, ten or twenty officers they will eventually put you down and hurt you if they have to in the process of detaining or arresting you. In the Bronx we would fight amongst ourselves but when the cops came it was “Yes, officer. No, officer,” and do our best to look as innocent as possible. People need to understand that cops on the street represent the full power of the state and government. Read more→
