Camp Verde, AZ — Starting March 4th, we begin the CVCL Chicken Egg Hatch-Along event. We invite all ages to join us on the journey of eggs as they are set in an incubator, as the eggs develop, and then to the hatching of the eggs into adorable fluffy chicks around March 25th. The incubator will be viewable to anyone who comes into the library. You can also follow the eggs’ progress on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Here is the schedule of events during the journey:
- Wednesday, March 4th, 5:30 pm: Join us as we prepare the chicken eggs and set them up in the incubator. The countdown starts!
- Wednesday, March 11th, 5:30 pm: Candling the Eggs. It’s time to see how the eggs are developing inside their eggs.
- Wednesday, March 18th, 5:30 pm: Candling the Eggs. It’s time to see how the chicks are developing inside their eggs.
- Saturday, March 21st, 2:00 pm: Egg Lockdown. It’s time for the eggs to go into lockdown! We will be preparing and reconfiguring the incubator and the eggs in preparation for the eggs hatching.
- Wednesday, March 25th, Day 21: Hatch due date.
- March 25-April 1st: Hatching and Chick viewing.
- April 1st, 7:00 pm: Chicks go to their new home.

Camp Verde Community Library is located at 130 N Black Bridge Road just off Montezuma Castle Highway in Camp Verde. The library is open Monday-Thursday 8:00a-7:00p and Friday-Saturday 9:00a-5:00p.
