Unlike most of the species this one has elected to remain a diminutive plant, but the flowers are enormous just as on the more normal size plants. I have hundreds of shots from the front and a few like this one from the back. Looks like it will be a two bloom year again.

Sedona AZ (May 2, 2019) – Sedona Fire District received a call for an aircraft crash at Sedona Oak Creek Airport at 09:42 on the morning of May 1. Fire crews arrived to find a single engine aircraft that had come to rest on the taxiway after an aborted take-off.“Both of the aircrafts occupants were uninjured and had exited the airplane,” said Battalion Chief Buzz Lechowski, “The aircraft was upright although the impact had sheared off the landing gear.”

Everything is aerodynamically perfect and the feathers laid down and the wings a perfect airfoil … a truly magnificent flying machine as he cruises around 30 mph.
