They were perched on top of a low rock island, well off shore and in the background are the mountains on the west shore of the lake, miles away. Verde Valley News – On March 7th at 07:39 Verde Valley Fire (VVFD) was dispatched to a structure on fire at the 1600 block of Beecher St. in Clarkdale. Crews from Verde Valley Fire District and Cottonwood Fire and Medical arrived on scene to find a single-family residence with fire and smoke coming out of the front door and windows of the house. Firefighters made an attack on the fire through the front door and were confronted with heat and reduced visibility due to the fire.
