Sedona AZ (August 24, 2017) – The Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest has prepared a preliminary environmental assessment (EA) for the Tobias-Flynn Private Land Access Project for public review and comment.This project involves a proposal to allow construction, operation and maintenance of an access road on Coconino National Forest land to provide access to a 27-acre parcel of private land along Oak Creek, near Oak Creek Cliffs Drive in Sedona. Alternatives include access from the east side of Oak Creek, as well as access from the west side that would include the construction of a bridge.
Clarkdale AZ (August 24, 2017) – Free public tours of Clark Memorial Clubhouse occur the third Wednesday of each month starting September 20. Please meet your hosts at 9:45 am for a brief welcome at the Clarkdale Historical Society and Museum located at 900 First North in Clarkdale, followed by a short walk to the clubhouse. Prescott AZ (August 24, 2017) – On August 5, 2017, the Yavapai County Search and Rescue Team (YCSRT), Backcounty Unit, competed in the Annual State swiftwater rodeo. The event was held at Saguaro Lake Ranch in Mesa, Arizona. The YCSRT team had a total of 10 members represented in this competition. Team one consisted of Josh Schmidt, Dan Hughart, Curt Freeman, Tim Wielinski, Scott Mahon and Ryan Viscket. This team took first place for the second year in a row. 6 agencies competed.

Clarkdale AZ (August 23, 2017) – In a move to enhance customer service, the Clarkdale Community Development Department recently completed the conversion of all paper permanent property files to digital records. This process took approximately nine months and converted five four-drawer filing cabinets of paper files to 2,764 digital records.
Mayer AZ (August 23, 2017) – Late last week, the manager of the Circle K store in Mayer, 10068 Highway 69, reported that one of his employees received a counterfeit $100 US bill around 8:30PM on Saturday, August 12, 2017. The manager was still in the process of locating surveillance video of the transaction. This past weekend, the video was received and used to obtain still shots of the 2 suspects involved. The photos are being released with the hope someone can identify them.
