There was a substantial number of our local Murder of Crows in the neighborhood this afternoon and the lighting was perfect to get good detail in them. Sedona AZ (January 8, 2019) – January 9th and 10th, Sedona Fire District will be hosting Active Shooter Hostile Emergency Response (ASHER) training. More than 70 attendees will participate in the training which will be held at Sedona Fire District Station 1 and Big Park School. This training is for first responders who may be called upon to deal with these types of incidents. “No one likes to consider the possibility that these events could potentially occur in our communities,” said Michael Duran, Sedona Fire District Training Officer, “but we must prepare for them, nonetheless.”

The shadow for the lead Ringneck duck was below the crop of the photo so we have two of “me” and one shadow … if that makes any sense I would be thoroughly surprised, but since I am writing the narrative it works for me. Took the shot at Bubbling Ponds last fall and as always I enjoy shooting wildlife in action and by making the crop I gave the photo better composition and hit all thirds.

This WKC awards prizes to participants for points based on the animals they kill including bobcats (3), coyotes (2) and foxes (1).Growing up in rural NH where generations of my family owned and operated a farm, I was a young and proud member of 4H.
