On the contrary, one can simply take up what those in ancient India and Egypt did thousands of years ago, and what early Sedonans did in the sixties— and still do. “It changed my life”, shared one local resident tied to the film industry. “When I stopped, my kids insisted that I start again.…
By Ted Grussing… like “watch it buddy, I’ve got the right of way!” It came out as a screech, like only a Great Blue Heron can do, but he was letting the driver of the Fish & Game truck know exactly what was on his mind … “go feed the fish and fatten them up for me, and stay out of my way!!!”

By Ted Grussing… from SW of Rogers Lake, looking to the NE, on a very wintry day last February. I tried to get the reflection of the San Francisco Peaks on the lake, but I was running out of airspace below me and decided that I was low enough. So did a few runs at this altitude taking the series of shots. The lake was home to many yachts back in the 40’s, and 50’s and then at some moment in time it was drained. I can picture me on a 30’ yacht, in the summer taking beauty like this…

By Ted Grussing… at least that what this Coopers Hawk seems to be telling the birds hiding and seeking shelter in our Desert Olive bush, which after 20 plus years of trimming is a nearly impenetrable mass of interwoven branches. Perhaps the next day they were not so lucky and the Coopers Hawk got the meal which he needed to sustain himself too. I was fortunate to have him spend several minutes trying to get the birds within…
