Clarkdale AZ (January 10, 2020) – The start of a forced 180 mile journey to the San Carlos Reservation began on February 27, 1875. 1500 Yavapai and Apache were removed from the Rio Verde Reservation located about 3 1/2 miles south of Peck’s Lake. Coordinated effort by YCSO deputies and detectives results in her arrest; Boyfriend also re-arrested    Sedona AZ (January 10, 2020) – On December 14, 2019, YCSO deputies were assigned to handle a fraud case with a connection to the Camp Verde Detention Center. The victim told deputies his credit was fraudulently used to bond out an inmate at the jail. Cottonwood AZ (January 10, 2020) – Today the Cottonwood Police Department is looking for Traci Ann Koelzer on Fraud charges.  In the latter part of April 2018, Cottonwood detectives investigated an incident involving the Old Town Association (OTA). During the investigation, detectives learned 50-year-old, Traci Ann Koelzer was the Treasurer for the OTA and defrauded the organization of more than one hundred thousand dollars.  Koelzer became aware of her charges and is believed to have left the Cottonwood area.

Cottonwood AZ (January 9, 2020) – The Verde Valley Fire and EMS Chiefs Association was recently awarded a grant from Unisource Emergency Services/Tucson Electric Power in the amount of $2,600. These funds will be used to purchase educational materials and approximately 160 carbon monoxide (CO) detectors for low-income, Veteran and disabled persons. Individuals fitting these guidelines who need a detector should contact their local fire or EMS agency. Participating agencies are: Copper Canyon Fire & Medical District, Cottonwood Fire & Medical Department, Jerome Fire Department, Sedona Fire District, Verde Valley Ambulance Company and Verde Valley Fire District.
