This image is a shot of the Orion Nebula, the closest star forming region to us in our galaxy; it is in the constellation of Orion. The cloud is approximately 25 light years across and about 1300 light years from earth. The red in the cloud is from ionized hydrogen gases.

Flagstaff AZ (January 21, 2021) – With the arrival of snow and wet weather, the Flagstaff Ranger District and Mogollon Rim Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest are beginning to close a number of forest roads for the safety of visitors and to protect forest roads during the winter season.Main forest roads are expected to be closed across much of the forest where snow has fallen, and the closures are expected to be completed by Friday. Forest Service personnel will be patrolling forest roads starting this afternoon and continuing through Friday to alert the public to this pending change.
