Sedona News – The Arizona Department of Transportation is advising drivers, area residents and businesses that work is beginning on the SR 89A Oak Creek Canyon Improvements on Monday, April 18.  The improvements, which will be constructed at various times through the end of 2023, include rockfall mitigation, erosion control and a bridge rehabilitation along portions of the roadway between Flagstaff and Sedona. Yavapai County News  – MATFORCE, a primary prevention coalition focused on stopping youth drug use before it starts, has partnered again this year with local law enforcement agencies to host medication takeback events throughout Yavapai County.  Since 2008 almost 38,000 pounds of medication have been collected and properly disposed of through Dump the Drugs events and drop box locations throughout Yavapai County. The Sedona Volunteer Park Rangers choose their own workdays, performing a variety of tasks including providing a uniformed presence in Uptown answering visitor questions, performing park patrols, occasionally doing light trail maintenance, assisting the Parks and Recreation Department with community events and assisting hikers using the new Sedona Shuttle.
