    AARP Tax-Aide Services at Camp Verde Community Library

    Verde Valley News – No-cost tax preparation and e-filing services for taxpayers of all ages by AARP Tax-Aide IRS-certified volunteers will be at Camp Verde Community Library again this year. Tax-Aide services will be available Tuesdays between 3:00p and 6:00p from February 6 – April 9, 2024. People requiring tax assistance must take the following steps:

    • go to the library’s PC Helpdesk during open hours
    • pick up an AARP Taxpayer Packet
    • sign-up with your name and phone number
    • wait for a call from an AARP representative
    • phone calls to make appointments will come from the CV Senior Center 623-783-6609 or 928-421-3710

    Before You Make and Appointment – Here is What You Need to Know

    • all returns must have an Intake Form completely filled out prior to the first appointment
    • we do not prepare ANY out-of-state returns
    • we do not prepare returns with rentals
    • we do not prepare returns with K-1’s
    • we do not do Married-Filing-Separate MFS returns
    • we will not prepare any self-employment returns unless Schedule C is already filled in
    • we will not do itemized returns unless Schedule A is already filled in
    • special forms are available at the PC Helpdesk at the library (library staff cannot help fill them out or tell you which form you need)
    • all AZ Tax Credits must have receipts with dates of donations
    • photo ID is required for everyone on the return

    After You Get a Call 

    After you sign-up at the library, an AARP representative will contact you to set 2 appointments to meet with them at the library. The AARP representative will be setup for these appointments in the library’s 2nd-Floor Founders Room near the fireplace. There will be a sign-in sheet outside the room when you arrive for your appointment. Please sign in when you arrive and wait for your name to be called for assistance.

    Your First Appointment

    All forms in the AARP Taxpayer packet and all necessary requested documents must be filled out, signed and brought to the first appointment. A short interview will take place. After the interview is complete the AARP representative will inventory your tax documents and ask you to verify that inventory. You will then be given a reminder of your 2nd appointment time.

    Your Second Appointment

    On the date of your second appointment, you will receive an explanation and copy of your tax return. You will sign an IRS form that will allow AARP to electronically file your return, and your tax documents will be returned to you.
