Sedona News – On Sunday, September 11 at 4pm, a House Concert celebrating rhythm and rhyme with Cheryl Good, Cassie Mavis, and the Zoot Suit Zebras featuring Gary Scott and Gary Every.  This show will feature song, story, dance, laughter, and ceremony.  This eclectic collective of artists are seeking an enthusiastic audience to share a musical evening in an intimate setting.  Set inside a beautiful West Sedona home the show will feature jazz, classical, classic rock, classic rock with a twist, motion, movement and humor.  There will be sing alongs and hopefully some laugh out loud moments as well.

In many ways Cheryl Good is the glue of the ensemble.  Cheryl sings, dances, plays flute percussion, piano, and Native American styled flute.  Hailing from Chicago, Cheryl is one of four Good sisters all of whom have extensive portfolios in musical theater.  Cheryl has also performed as professional flutist, playing classical music at weddings, ceremonies, and corporate events.  Many people in the area have been fortunate to Ms. Good perform Broadway show tunes at the monthly Cabaret Show at the Sedona Arts Academy in the Village.  Cheryl’s many talents allow this group of energetically eccentric performers to explore a wide variety of musical themes and moods.

Choreographer Cassie Mavis will dance and perform duets with Cheryl Good.  Cassie will perform belly dance, jazz, ragtime, and western line dancing.  A practioner of the healing arts Cassie will open the show with a sacred ceremony of balance and flame.

Former Dore records artist Gary Scott will be armed with multiple guitars and ample enthusiasm.  Gary Scott performs across the Verde Valley and will be anchoring classic rock anthems like White Rabbit, Light My Fire, House of the Rising Sun, Hit the Road Jack, as well as providing the classic bass line to the steamy jazz standard Fever.

Gary Every is an award winning journalist, storyteller, slam poet, and has been nominated for the Rhysling Award for science fiction poem the year seven times.  Gary Every was also the host of Sedona’s literary reading series The Pumphouse Poetry and Prose Project for eight years.  Mr. Every loves combining poetry and music in a real beatnik bongo bonkers cool daddy o sort of way.

Won’t you please join us Sunday September 11 at 4pm at 485 Harmony Drive Sedona for A Celebration of Rhythm and Rhyme, an energetic and eclectic combination of music, dance, and storytelling
