    Opening Reception Held During Celebrate Sedona on August 21

    [Sedona, Ariz.]—August 3, 2026—Sedona Arts Center (SAC) presents “Beyond the Frame,” a special exhibition celebrating artists who challenge traditional artistic boundaries and explore new possibilities in creative expression. The exhibition opens Friday, August 21, during Celebrate Sedona from 4–6 p.m. and will remain on view through September 27, 2026.

    The free community celebration will include the opening reception for “Beyond the Frame,” live music, food and beverages, and opportunities to meet exhibiting artists. Celebrate Sedona brings the community together through art, creativity, and connection, and will take place inside Sedona Arts Center’s Art Barn, 15 Art Barn Road, in Uptown Sedona.

     

    Sedona Arts Center Presents "Beyond the Frame" Special Exhibition  August 21 - September 27, 2026

    Featuring work by 40 artists working across a wide range of media, “Beyond the Frame” showcases artists who push beyond familiar materials, formats, and ideas. Through experimentation, unconventional materials, and innovative techniques, the exhibition invites visitors to discover work that challenges expectations while expanding the possibilities of contemporary art.

    “Artists have always helped us see the world differently by exploring new ideas and approaching creativity without limits,” said Julie Richard, CEO of Sedona Arts Center. “Beyond the Frame celebrates that spirit of curiosity and innovation, inviting visitors to experience work that encourages fresh perspectives and reminds us that art is always evolving.”

    Featured artists include Dahlo, Madeleine Althoff, Peter Anderson, Meredith Armstrong, Ayako Bando, Jeanne Bellinger, Janette Boughman, Diane Bronstein, Marian Busse, Robyn Campbell, Michael Castillo, Terri Frew, Sharon Gilham, Ronald Gonzalez, John Hall, Christopher Johnson, Lara Kempke, Kristine Kollasch, Chuck LaVoie, Suyeun Lee, Marie Llanes, Sonja London-Hall, Cynthia Martinez, Erick Martinez Gregory, Tom McIntire, Jaqui Mejia, Jennifer Myhre, Maryellen Pugh, Melinda Rasch, John Allen Ray, LeAnn Richey, Andrea Rodriguez, Michael Rohde, Willoughby Sinn, Leesa Stevens, Larry Stewart, Susan Spector, Maria Testa, Rhonda Urdang, and Christine Veitch.

    Through diverse media and innovative approaches, “Beyond the Frame” celebrates artists who take creative risks, challenge convention, and help shape the evolving future of contemporary art.
