    Fantastic Family Fourth of July Events in Cottonwood!

    Cottonwood AZ (July 3, 2012) – The City of Cottonwood Parks and Recreation Department is pleased to announce the Fantastic Family Fourth of July will continue as scheduled. Following is the schedule of events. Hope to see you there!

    Sedona Gift Shop

    • 4:00 pm – The festivities will begin with jumping castles, water rides and games for kids. Rides are $1 per ride or $10 for an all you can ride wrist band.
    • 4:00 – 6:00 pm – FREE hot dogs and hamburgers donated by Fry’s and cooked by Hog Wild. Soda, water and ice cream will be for sale by the Cottonwood Youth Advisory Commission.
    • 4:30 pm – Watermelon eating contests. Age groups: 7-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16+
    • 6:30 pm – Glow necklace sales begin at the Cottonwood Youth Advisory Commission booth.
    • 7:10 pm – Welcome by Mayor Diane Joens
    • 7:15 pm – Invocation/prayer, National Anthem sung by local talent contest winner Eli Torok Bacher.
    • 7:25 pm – VFW Bert Black Jr. Post 7400 Color Guard
    • 7:45 pm – Richard Faust, Community Services General Manager Patriotic Solute to Veterans
    • 8:30 pm – Intermission
    • 8:45 pm – FIREWORKS!!!!

    If you recently moved to Sedona, you may notice that every four years, residents vote on something called Home Rule. The July 21 vote is simply about who controls Sedona’s city budget.
