Sedona, AZ — On Wednesday April 15 at 5:00 PM in Patio Las Campanas, Tlaquepaque will host a poetry reading under the Verses in the Village banner.  The Verses in the Village poetry reading series, hosted by Poet Laureate Gary Every, was so successful last fall, that it was decided to run another series in the spring.  These were nearly perfect evenings last year, perfect temperatures amidst the flowers, sculpture, and exquisite architecture of Patio La Campanas and featuring the best in local and regional poets.  Audience members were treated not only to poignant and often humorous spoken words but made new friends and neighbors as well.

Verses in the Village poetry readings will be held on Wednesday April 15th, Wednesday May 20th, and Thursday June 18th.  All shows will begin promptly at 500 PM and take place in beautiful Patio Las Campanas.  Some of the featured poets will include Rex Arasmith, Clint Frakes, Christopher Cipollini, Rachel Polen, Martha Entin, Lydia Gates, plus a few extra special guests to be announced.

The show on Wednesday April 15th will feature three distinctively elegant voices, Rex Arrasmith, Christopher Cipollini, and Clint Frakes.  Each poet will read a short selection of their works during the hour of golden light and cool breezes just before sunset.

Christopher Cipollini is a poet, author, and performer whose work bridges myth, history, and lived experience.  He has been performing since 2010, where he was a founding member of the Human Experience poetry collective in Las Vegas.  He has published several books including his most recent Pantheon: A Cathedral of the Mind.  Cipollini has performed internationally in New York City, Florence Italy, and at the famed Shakespeare and Company Bookstore in Paris France. With his friend and fellow poet Michelle Berry, he is the co-creator of Pen-Demonium at the Queen B Vinyl Cafe and The Lost Verse at The Eureka Room both in Cottonwood AZ.

Clint Frakes is a poet, writer, teacher and naturalist living in Cornville, AZ. His poetry, prose and non-fiction have appeared in 200 journals, magazines and anthologies in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and Argentina since 1987. He was selected as one of the 50 Best New Poets of 2008 by National Poet Laureate, Mark Strand. He has received numerous national and regional awards for poetry and was the Chief Editor of The Hawaii Review and Big Rain.  He has two collections of poetry in print: Myths Beasts & the Ways of Water (Seven Worlds Press, 2025) and The Aching Unrest of Spheres (Finishing Line Press, 2024) and has a forthcoming volume of poetry in 2027 entitled, The Guardian of the Lion.

Rex Carey Arrasmith writes poetry and fiction in Sedona, AZ He also writes uniquely inspired wedding vows as an ordained Universal Life Minister. His poetry can be found in the Lily Poetry Review, Passenger’s Journal, Solstice Literary Magazine, Spillwords, Hares Paw Literary Journal, New Note Poetry, Dark Thirty Poetry Publishing, and others.  Arrasmith writes with a clear and lyrical style that evokes the best of classical traditions.

Won’t you join us for Verses in the Village on Wednesday April 15 at 5pm in Patio Las Campanas at Tlaquepaque for a delightful evening of spoken word, music, laughter and friendship with Rex Arrasmith, Chris Cipollini and Clint Frakes.  Sound will be provided by former Dore Recording Artist Gary Scott who has promised to bring along his guitar.  Verses in the Village events are hosted by Sedona Poet Laureate Gary Every and Tlaquepaque.
