Cottonwood AZ (October 3, 2020) – The Cottonwood Police Department is asking for your help in locating a hit and run suspect.
Monday morning September 28, 2020, a dark- colored pickup truck collided with a bicyclist in the 700 block of N. Main street in Cottonwood. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The 65-year-old male victim was transported to the hospital for his injuries which were significant, but non-life threatening.
Cottonwood Police were able to identify the driver of the run vehicle as 24-year-old Cottonwood resident Brandon Michael Mackinnon.
Mackinnon is described as a white male 6 feet tall, 200 pounds with blond hair and green eyes. He has multiple tattoos to include several on his arms.

Brandon Michael “Mike” Mackinnon Wanted by Cottonwood Police Department for a Hit-and-Run Involving a Bicyclist
Cottonwood AZ (September 29, 2020) – Monday morning at about 8:30 Cottonwood Police and EMS responded to the intersection of N. Willard Street and N. Main Street for a vehicle versus bicycle hit and run.
While enroute witnesses reported a dark colored pickup truck struck the bicyclist while both were headed southbound in the 700 block of N. Main Street. The driver of the truck fled the scene in his truck but some witnesses followed him. The suspect truck was located in an alley between the 1200 and 1300 block of E. Mingus Avenue abandoned. However, based on witnesses and video surveillance footage the suspect was identified as 24-year-old Cottonwood resident, Brandon Michael “Mike” Mackinnon. He is also the registered owner of the truck.
Mike Mackinnon has not been located but there is probable cause for his arrest. The bicyclist, a 65-year-old male, was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. However, his current condition is unknown.
Mike Mackinnon is described as a white male approximately 6’00” tall, 200 pounds with reddish blonde scruffy hair and facial hair.
