    Winter/Spring Speaker Series

    logo_leagueofwomenvotersSedona AZ (January 5, 2019) – The League of Women Voters, Greater Verde Valley is pleased to announce their winter/spring speaker program series.  All programs will be held at Yavapai College Sedona, Room 34, 4215 Arts Village Dr., Sedona.  The programs are free and open to the public, so make a note of these dates and watch for added programs and events throughout the winter and spring!  The programs are a partnership with OLLI.

    Monday, January 28, 12:30-2:00PM: A Dreamer’s Story & Why Americans need Immigration Reform, presented by Daniel Rodriguez JD, Attorney and first dreamer to pass the Arizona Bar.

    Wednesday, February 6, 6:00-7:30PM:  Philosophy & Politics: Land Ethics and Moral Standing.  Presented by Kent Baldner, PhD, Western Michigan University.

    Monday, March 18, 3-4:30PM: Where Have All the Voters Gone – A Conversation on Increasing Voter Turnout. Presented by Alberto Olivas, Executive Director, Pastor Center for Politics & Public Service ASU.

    Monday, April 15, 2018; 12:30 PM:   Independent Voting in Arizona.  Presented by Art Babbott, Coconino County Supervisor District 1. 

    Wednesday, May 1, 6-7:30PM: Philosophy & Politics: Ethics of Climate Change.  Presented by Matthew Goodwin, PhD, Northern Arizona University.

    The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization dedicated to public service in the field of government. It is a national organization — open to both men and women — whose purpose is to encourage political responsibility through informed and active participation in government. The League influences public policy through education and advocacy.
