Puppies that will become guide dogs take center stage in film at Fisher Theatre
Sedona AZ (September 21, 2018) – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to present the Northern Arizona premiere of the acclaimed and heartwarming new documentary “Pick of the Litter” Sept. 28-Oct. 4 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
Meet Patriot, Potomac, Primrose, Poppet, and Phil — five spirited puppies who, from the moment they’re born, begin an incredible journey to become guide dogs for the blind. “Pick of the Litter” follows them as they begin their quest.

Cameras follow these pups through an intense odyssey as they train to become dogs whose ultimate responsibility is to protect their blind partners from harm. It’s a rigorous two-year process that will take the pups from the care of selfless foster volunteers to specialized trainers to, if they make the cut, a lifelong human companion. At every step of the way, the puppies will be tested, challenged, and evaluated.
These remarkable animals rely on a community of dedicated individuals who train them to do amazing, life-changing things in the service of their human.

“Pick of the Litter” will be shown at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre Sept. 28-Oct. 4. Showtimes will be 4 p.m. on Friday, Sunday and Tuesday, Sept. 28, 30 and Oct. 2; and 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 3 and 4.
