This little creature was dining on food he found on the tops of Lily Pads in the channel between the Upper Eau Clair Lake and Birch Lake this evening; he would feed on whatever it was on the top of a pad and then hop to the next pad and clean it out. Really fun to watch and even funner to shoot it. A Yellow-Rumped Warbler … much prettier than the name. A “Yellow Tail Lily Hopper” sounds better :+)
Started the day with a walk and got shots of Mergansers on a dock, almost got a pair of eagles and then back for breakfast and out on the lake for a few hours. Floated around for a while with seagulls and loons and then up to the north end and into Smith Lake and the next one (name escapes me). Got some fabulous shots of a Canada Goose taking off, in flight and landing, some not so great Wood Ducks and a few trees in color. This afternoon in search of color, I took a drive down to Hayward, Cable and a visit to Mt. Telemark, where In used to ski (now also with a big chalet, hotel, condos, golf course and a very nice air strip capable of taking jet traffic and then to Drummond and back to the lake.
For sure I will be missing peak color here, but hopefully will get it flying over Lockett Meadow and the SF Peaks over the weekend … returning to Sedona, Friday. It is cold here tonight … the migratory birds will be not far behind. I migrated a long time ago :+)

In addition to sales of photographs already taken Ted does special shoots for patrons on request and also does air-to-air photography for those who want photographs of their airplanes in flight. All special photographic sessions are billed on an hourly basis.
Ted also does one-on-one workshops for those interested in learning the techniques he uses. By special arrangement Ted will do one-on-one aerial photography workshops which will include actual photo sessions in the air.
