… on planet earth … places close to home where all you hear are sounds of wind … soughing through the trees … waves lapping up on the shore … birds and other creatures, but nary a sound of man. A place to refresh the soul, to think about catching a fish for dinner and to reflect on the beauty that is earth … we are alone here and need to come to terms with our life and place on earth and in time and what better place to do it than here … or anywhere where we are not.

    Own In Sedona

I took this shot a few weeks ago at Ashurst Lake SE of Flagstaff, Az. And want to spend some more time up there. If you visit it be sure to stop in and say hi to Vic who is one of the hosts up there … he is a very nice guy and always has ice tea or coffee on hand for visitors. He will be there through this month and then back to Phoenix for the winter, but come next spring he will return . The San Francisco Peaks are on the horizon and much as I enjoy doing my aerial work, I think I like this shot better than the aerial shots I have taken of the lake. Most of my shots have been from over ten thousand feet so perhaps if I dropped down to a thousand feet AGL I could get some neater shots … will have to do that soon.

Today was fun and most of it at the airport, then home and dinner with friends at the Hilton … glider guiders :+)

Have a terrific day and smile … if you are breathing what better way to express your fortunate status :+)

    Cheers

The green of all the fields is mine,
The stars, the night, the wind at play,
    A peaceful heart, while quietly
    I go my way.
