    Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to partner with the International Raptor and Falconry Center to present “Celebrating World Falconry Day” at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre.

    The event will benefit the International Raptor and Falconry Center.

    Join us for a captivating celebration of World Falconry Day as Dr. Michele Losee presents the rich history and cultural heritage of falconry. Experience firsthand the legacy of this ancient practice, which has bridged cultures and continents over centuries, while fostering deep conservation efforts that continue to protect raptors today. Discover how falconers, as some of the earliest conservationists, have contributed to raptor preservation and learn how these traditions have shaped a unique human-nature relationship.

    As a special highlight, four falconry raptor species will be present, offering a rare chance to admire and learn about these incredible birds up close.

    With a blend of live raptors and immersive storytelling, this event promises an unforgettable afternoon for nature enthusiasts, history buffs, and anyone curious about falconry’s lasting legacy. Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate and connect with the culture and Traditional Ecological Knowledge of falconry.

    “Celebrating World Falconry Day” will take place at the Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $20, to benefit the International Raptor and Falconry Center.
