    … in a bit of a mood as I am a week into the summer project of organizing and trimming my photo portfolio down. For the past eight years I have cataloged new photo shoots into a folder named Photo – Camera uploads not cataloged … my year, month and date … it has become unwieldly, so my summer project is cataloging the uncatalogued. A good summer project and staying cool whilst so engaged! Both of tonight’s shots discovered while so engaged!

    Above is a pair of Haris’s Hawks that were hunting together down at Lake Pleasant … with the size differences I would say we have a male and female, the latter being the large of the two.

    Below was an early morning winter shot on the lake with a light fog and quiet water as two Mergansers make their way across the lake … a quiet beauty that stays with you as you remember early mornings on the water …

    Tomorrow morning will find me on a lake … at 6AM it will be 91F at Lake Pleasant … at 6AM it will be 55F at Lake Mary up on the Plateau … that is where you will find me 🙂 Hoping to get a lot of good shots of the Blue-eyed Darner dragon fly in the tens of acres of water flowers at the east end of the lake. Maybe some elk and ?

    Have a beautiful day today … keep breathing and smiling … we are here!

    Cheers,

    Ted

    I know I do not understand this world,
    This universe of life and growth and death.
    I do not damn the Maker, saying still
    Within myself that surely all is well.
    The myriad stars shine nightly in the sky,
    The earth yields forth her budding brood in spring,
    And always dawn and noon and dark succeed;
    Volcanoes burst and flooding rains descend,
    And sprigs shoot forth where barren winter lay;
    The piping winds bound through the bending trees,
    And withered leaves again return to earth;
    Soft lips grow hard and tresses gold turn grey;
    Sweet babes are born, and stooping, aged men
    Depart into the soft and silent night.
    And not one jot of all this can I change.

    Compassion Has no Party

    Whether you are Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, one truth remains: the vast majority of people on this planet are, at their core, decent. They believe in fairness, in dignity, and in the simple idea that other human beings matter.
