… a very short one tonight as leaving for the lake in less than five hours and need some shut eye … hopeful of getting more shots like these and so much more … the calm of the lake in the early morning hours blessed with the soft golden light that spreads across the earth as the sun rises.

Above is a pair of Black Crowned Night Herons perched on the top branches of a tree that is submerged in the lake. They have started releasing the water to agriculture and the lake level is starting its descent. By the end of August, it will be down t least 20 feet.

Below is a feather that has served its purpose and was floating on the water near us … all the hours of flight and now time for rest.

Have a beautiful day … smile and keep breathing … my favorite way to end and start a day.

    Cheers,

    Ted

Ever see any Western Curlew at any of the lakes? I saw one but was unable to photograph it as it sat atop a stop in a field about 1/2 mile from the lake.

    Does it Really Matter?

Does it matter if life is illusory or real, if this a material world like most everyone thinks or a dream? It looks and feels real, it offers sensations and feelings that attest to its realness.
