    Verde Valley OLLI Hosts “Provost Perspectives” April 4

    Meet YC’s new provost, and hear his ideas on the future

    Verde Valley News – The public is invited to attend a free lunchtime presentation from Yavapai College’s new Provost on the state of modern education, and his ideas on the College, its potential and where it can go from here. Please join Yavapai College Provost Dr. Douglas Berry for “Provost Perspectives: My Journey and Our Future,” Thursday, April 4, from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., at Room M-137 on Yavapai College Verde Valley Campus.

    With extensive higher education experience as both faculty member and administrator, Dr. Berry holds a B.A. in Psychology, an M.A. in Sports and Exercise Psychology, and a Ph.D. in General Psychology. He previously served as the Dean of Liberal Arts and Sciences in the Maricopa County Community College District. As Provost, Dr. Berry will serve on Yavapai College’s Executive Leadership Team, overseeing the academic areas of Business and professional programs, as well as visual and performing arts, Humanities, English, Social Sciences, Math, Science and Computer science.

    Dr. Berry’s presentation is part of the Verde Valley OLLI program’s revamped “Munch and Learn” program, held in Room M-137 of YC’s Verde Valley Campus, 601 Black Hills Drive, in Clarkdale. There is no charge for the Provost’s address, but registration is required to ensure seating. Please call (928) 649-4275 or visit www.yc.edu/olliopen to register.

    The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) offers academic, not-for-credit programs with no tests or homework, designed for adults 50 years old or older. In the Verde Valley, classes can be found at the Yavapai College Sedona Center, 4215 Arts Village Drive, Sedona; YC’s Verde Valley Campus in Clarkdale; and in the Sedona Public Library in the Village of Oak Creek, 25 West Saddlehorn Road, VOC.
