Sedona Public Library Rotating Artist Series Features Photographer Chuck Schug

logo_sedonapubliclibrarySedona AZ (January 8, 2013) – As part of the ongoing Sedona Public Library in the Village Rotating Artist Series, Chuck Schug will be displaying his framed photography at the Village location beginning Tuesday, January 8, 2013. In addition to photography capturing unique perspectives on wild animals, Schug will be exhibiting some close ups of life on Metal Prints™. MetalPrints™ represent an art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. Some of Schug’s artwork will be available for purchase; a portion of the proceeds from all sales benefit Sedona Public Library in the Village.

20120108_ChuckSchug1“It’s pretty cool hanging your photos on the wall of a public building for everyone to see. I’m not making any claims here – I’m somewhere in a photography learning curve. Precisely where is for others to say. But I know I really enjoy the craft. I live and breathe it. I’ve made myself a promise to continually improve at it. Someday I’ll get it right”, says Schug.

Chuck Schug sells regularly through iStockphoto.com and its affiliates on the Web. He enjoyed a two-page spread in the September 2010 issue of Arizona Highways Magazine. His photographs are routinely used in Web articles and advertising, and more recently provided the front cover for a work of poetry published in South Africa. You may contact the photographer directly at chuckschug@aol.com.

The Sedona Public Library offers a myriad of programs for all ages and interests. For information about programs and services the library offers in the Village, please contact Cheryl Yeatts, Site Manager at 928-284-1603 or check out our website at Sedonalibrary.org.

    If I Were Curtis Sliwa
    By Tommy Acosta

One of my guilty little pleasures is imagining what I would do if I was in someone else’s shoes, especially politicians. In this essay I would love to jump into the shoes of Curtis Sliwa, a former New York City vigilante who founded the Guardian Angels and is now running as a Republican for mayor of his city.
