Sedona AZ (July 13, 2020) – The League of Women Voters Greater Verde Valley Voters Education Program, and OLLI at Yavapai College – Sedona/Verde Valley will present a stimulating discussion on the Arizona Corporation Commission featuring Kris Mayes, former member of the Arizona Corporation Commission, on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, 12:30PM-2:00PM via a Zoom call.
Explore the workings of the Arizona Corporation Commission — what it does, who are the players, and how decisions by the Arizona Corporation Commission impact voters’ daily lives. This will be an informative session with the opportunity to ask questions and engage in facilitated dialogue.
The session will be facilitated by Kris Mayes who served as an Arizona Corporation Commissioner from 2003 to 2010, where she was also chairperson for two years. While a commissioner, Kris co-authored Arizona’s Renewable Energy Standard, Energy Efficiency Resource Standard, and the state’s net metering rules. She holds a JD from Arizona State University and currently is Professor of Practice, School for the Future of Innovation in Society at ASU.
