Arizona State ParksCottonwood AZ (May 24, 2013) – Governor Janice K. Brewer has proclaimed June 2013 as “Great Outdoors Month.” In recognition of Great Outdoors Month and National Fishing and Boating Week (June 1-9, 2013), Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Arizona Game and Fish Department and the Prescott National Forest will host the Verde Valley Fishing Fun Day at Dead Horse Ranch State Park on Saturday, June 1, 2013 from 8 a.m. to Noon.

Events such as this fishing clinic at Dead Horse Ranch State Park have a significant economic impact on the communities and counties of Arizona.”

The event will include games and activities for children of all ages and free fishing in the lagoon. Fishing poles and bait will be available and the lagoon will be stocked with catfish. The event is free but guests must check in at the park office. A fishing license is not required.
