Sedona, AZ– University Women of Sedona will host their next informational meeting on Monday, March 2, at 9:30 am when their own President, Maudelle Terry will give a talk on ‘Forgotten Black History’, and what it was like growing up Black in an all-white neighborhood, going to college, being in an interracial marriage, and being one of the first Black TV news reporters. Maudelle will also share some Black history tidbits that the usual American history books do not include.

As Winston Churchill said: “History is written by the victor”. But, Maudelle responds, “If the loser wrote the same history, it would read differently. That is why Black Americans’ accomplishments are too-often neglected and overlooked.” In addition to her own personal experiences and observances, Maudelle will include information about many Black inventors and their accomplishments that white and even Black people don’t know about.

Maudelle is a former San Francisco TV news reporter, business owner and author. Raised by her grandmother in San Diego, CA, she credits her grandmother with imparting pearls of wisdom about life and men helping Maudelle navigate many challenges and exciting experiences throughout her life.
