    … and it is Monday and another fantastic day is underway … spent most of the day working on the Knot Yacht … with up to six or more trips down to Lake Pleasant or other lakes it takes a lot of jolting and after seven years of this travel a few rivets have been doing a little leaking so today was the fix it day. A few YouTube videos on how to tighten the rivets and was out to buy a few tools deemed necessary (actually all tools are necessary whether or not you have a use for them) … then with the help of a friend I used an air hammer for the first time ever and we got the rivets tightened! I filled the boat half full of water and only had a slight drip from one rivet; after draining the boat I fixed that one and it is good!

    I occasionally think about getting another boat … a little bigger a little faster … then I come back to reality and the knowledge that no other boat would get me into the shallow waters I need to get into to get the wildlife I want! Knot Yacht is really a pretty cool vessel (sounds bigger) and fits nicely in the garage and it does scoot … a 14ft modified V Jon Boat made by Alumacraft and powered by a 25hp Mercury fuel injected motor … about 40mph with just me in it and in the 30s with a friend.

    The shot above is of a Great Blue Heron flaring and putting the air brakes to maximum as he prepares to land on one of the levees at Bubbling Ponds Hatchery in Page Springs … his legs flex backwards making for tremendous shock absorption when he touches down.

    The shot below is from the NE corner of the San Francisco Peaks looking WNW … beyond the peaks Kendrick Peak is in full view and to the left of it a partial of Sitgreaves Mountain. It was a magical day to be in the air and cruising the Colorado Plateau.

    Have a beautiful day … smile, keep breathing and share some kindness with others today … maybe tomorrow too.

    Cheers,

    Ted

    Thou great God, uphold me also in the lonely hour;
    and though I fall in the din and the dust of the world,
    resurrect Thou me. Even to the last, turn my hands
    to kindly service, and part my lips in gleeful songs
    of love. And in the softly falling dark, when all grows
    strangely still, may I be glad to have trod the sweet
    green earth, and known the tender touch of love. Yet
    may I depart with joy, as one who journeys home at
    evening.
